Summary

Stardew Valleyallows players to give gifts to villagers in order todevelop friendships. With each villager loving and hating different items, it is imperative that players give the right gifts to achieve the right aims. Each friendship comes with unique benefits, including new quests, recipes, items, and hidden cutscenes. You can give each villager two gifts per week, and another one on their birthday.

Marnie, one of the most beloved villagers, lives at her ranch to the southwest of town. She sells farm supplies at her shop, including hay, animal accessories, and tools to streamline the farming process. So why befriend Marnie? Like all villagers, the chance of receiving a gift from them increases with the rate of friendship points. Marnie also offers two great recipes as friendship develops, an item-retrieval quest and players who are also high-level friends with Lewis will unlock an extra fun cut scene too. Here are the best gifts to offer her.

7Farmer’s Lunch

This’ll Keep You Going

Tomake this wholesome meal, all players need is a parsnip and an omelet. Like all loved items, players will gain +80 friendship points with Marnie.

There’s Little Heart Candies On Top

Another recipe they can make themselves, this cake will provide +80 friendship points when a player gifts it to Marnie.

To make this recipe, players will need a melon, wheat flour, sugar, and an egg. Sadly, this recipe only appears on The Queen of Sauce in year 2, on the 21st day of Summer, so Marnie may have to wait a while to get this one.

3All Universal Likes

Items Liked By All Villagers

All liked items guarantee +45 friendship points, and they are usually far easier to obtain than liked gifts.

Universally liked items include most artisan goods, most cooking items, all flowers except for poppies, foraged minerals except for quartz, and all gems. All the villagers also likeMaple Syrup, Life Elixir, and Rainbow Shells, to name a few.

some universally liked items, a jar of life elixir, a bottle of maple syrup and a shiny shell.

Sometimes, players will find secret notes detailing other items that particular villagers will enjoy.

2Eggs and Milk

Farmer’s Essentials

As the resident farmer inStardew Valley, it’s unsurprising that Marnie loves classic farm items like eggs and milk. These items are easily found on most farms, especially if players have chickens or cows in their coops and barns. In fact, most players will be able to spare eggs or milk as regular gifts due to their commonality.

Gifting eggs to Marnie excludes the Void Egg, which is almost universally disliked by the villagers.

1Stardew Valley Almanac

Gain Some Farming Experience

Unlike a lot of liked items, this is not the easiest gift to come by. A book that providesfarming insightsto players (and a sweet 250 farming XP boost for all who read it), this is obviously a great gift for Marnie.

Players can find this book at the Bookseller’s stall, which appears on two random days each season, for between 5,000g and 10,000g. It can also appear on occasion at the Traveling Cart, in Fishing Chests, and in rare mining and digging locations.

Altogether, the value of this book means it probably isn’t the most sensible exchange for +45 friendship points with Marnie, but if players come across it by chance, it may make a worthwhile present.
