Summary
It doesn’t appear thatThe Boyswill be back until 2026 but that doesn’t mean that showrunner Eric Kripke is resting on his laurels. In fact, it looks like things are already starting to spin up as the show is adding some new cast members for the Amazon Prime Video series' final season. At the very least, Kripke has added one cast member to the show.
Interestingly enough, this addition toThe Boysis one that viewers won’t know much about until he pops up on the streaming service. The character didn’t make anactual appearance in Season 4but he was mentioned and he just happens to be a totally new super that was never shown or mentioned in the graphic novels that are the inspiration for the program.
The Boys Add Bombsight For Season 5
On Wednesday,The Boysofficial Twitter accountannounced that it wasaddingStranger ThingsalumMason Dye to its roster. The account also announced that Dye is playing a super known as Bombsight. Beyond that it isn’t offering any details on just what the character might entail and whether or not he might be on the side of Butcher and his Boys, or be one of the super-powered Vought escapees who Homelander enlisted when he took over the government and will be fighting against Butcher’s crew in Season 5. “More details, you ask?” The account posted. “Ya know better by now.”
All the details to tell are the showrunners, considering that Bombsight hasn’t made an appearance in either the show or the comics. There was one mention of the super-powered person in the fifth episode of the latest season, “Beware the Jabberwock, My Son.” What the show does set up is that he’s one of the oldest “supes” as he was in action during the 1940s and 1950s. While it’s unclear what he was doing outside of shooting movies, Bombsight did appear in a movie titled,The Curse of Fu Manchu.

With a name like Bombsight, it would likely he fought in at least one war. With the stereotypical asian name as the title of his movie, it stands to reason Bombsight fought in the Korean war. Depending on how old he was at the time, he might have also been caught up in World War II and was secretlytied to the Nazis like Stormfront.
If that’s the case, then Bombsight could be somewhat similar in personality to the last high profile character Dye played onStranger Things. Dye played Jason Carver, who was the captain of the basketball team for the Hawkins high school team. As the town starts to be overcome by the Satanic Panic of the era, Carver becomes a vigilante who goes on the hunt for the killer of his girlfriend. Granted, instead of being under the influence of a supernatural mind control monster, onThe Boys, he’ll be the one with the powers.
