Summary
Conqueror’s Haki, otherwise known as Supreme King Haki, is one of the most powerful abilities inOne Piece. It is a rare form of Haki, unlike the other two, which can be trained and learned by anyone, Conqueror’s Haki is only available to a handful of powerful individuals. Users are able to effectively assert their will to dominate others, which can be utilized practically in many different forms of combat.
While the exact origin of it is unclear, it seems to be continually held by individuals who are naturally ambitious and independently powerful. Although unconfirmed, there may be a hereditary aspect, as at least a few of its users have a parent or grandparent who are also capable of the ability. This list will look at the naturally contentious subject of theweakest users of Conqueror’s Haki. Seeing as the power filters out naturally weaker characters, even the supposed “weakest users” are not that weak at all in the grand scheme of things. Perhaps some of them may even prove themselves to be undeserving of this status as the story continues.
1Don Chinjao
Retired Leader Of The Happo Navy
Don Chinjaowas a pirate and leader of the Happo Navy who was known for his drill-like head. He was once capable of clashing with the likes of Monkey D. Garp. However, their continual fights resulted in Garp caving in the don’s head. This caused Chinjao to develop a grudge against Garp, which extended to his family, namely Monkey D. Luffy. In a haki-charged duel with the younger pirate, Chinjao’s head suffered an injury that restored it to its original shape. As a result, he let go of his grudge against the Monkey clan.
Chinjao also fought against his grandson, Sai, after his decision to prevent his enemy, Baby 5, from committing suicide. Chinjao eventually had his drill-head bent by Sai, which caused the elder naval leader to give his grandson full control of the navy. Although it is understood, given that Chinjao being surpassed by Sai, it also seems odd that he’s content with once again losing his drill-head. After Sai saw fit to serve under the grandson of Chinjao’s former enemy as part of theStraw Hat Grand Fleet, he appeared to have no objections. Although Chinjao has shown himself to be a fairly formidable figure, he is probably the weakest known user of Conqueror’s Haki.
2Portgas D. Ace
2nd Division Commander Of The Whitebeard Pirates
The lateAcehad immense willpower, even as a child. His Conqueror’s Haki knocked out pirates before he even understood what the ability was. The son ofGol D. Rogercaptained his own crew, known as the Spade Pirates. Nonetheless, his ambitions were tested in the New World. Ultimately, after losing to Whitebeard, Ace ended upjoining his crew.
By the time ofOne Piece, Ace was wholly onboard with being a Division Commander. Although his rank gave him a level of authority within the crew, his will had effectively been bent towards his captain (who also had the ability). Additionally, although he canonically has this power, his inadvertent blast of Conqueror’s Haki in his youth was the only time he was seen using the power in the main story.
3Roronoa Zoro
Swordsman Of The Straw Hat Pirates
Zorois perhaps one of the most ambitious pirates to act as a subordinate to a captain. Despite this status, he has recently discovered his own Conqueror’s Haki, and began to use it to augment his physical strength. This is likely the result of his goal to become the World’s Strongest Swordsman, paired with the goal of his own captain, Monkey D. Luffy, to become King of the Pirates.
Even though Zoro is one ofthe crew’sstrongest pirates, he largely focuses on dealing with any antagonist’s powerful subordinates (oftentimes those with a sword) rather than taking a shot at the primary foe (although he most certainly has done so on occasion). Zoro still has a strong will and refusal to lose, but his indomitable spirit seems tempered by letting his captain take over where he thinks the captain should. That being said, Zoro has standards, and has previously told Luffy that. if he fails to handle things properly, he wouldn’t be worthy of being called “captain.” Nonetheless, he has never actually made good on said threats and has remained devoted to Luffy since the day he joined his crew.
4Charlotte Katakuri
Minister oO Flour/Sweet Commander Of The Big Mom Pirates
Charlotte Katakuriis the son of Charlotte Linlin. He is the second most powerful pirate of his crew, theBig Mom Pirates, with the sole exception of his captain and mother. Even in a crew filled with siblings of all ages, Katakuri distinguishes himself as one of the strongest fighters who is always willing to go on the offensive. His skills were remarkable enough that he was one of three officers given the rank of Sweet Commander, alongside his sister, Smoothie, and his brother, Cracker.
Although Katakuri is certainly strong-willed, any ambitions of his own seem muddled by his ultimate loyalty to his mother. He seems perfectly content with merely following her orders, proving her to ultimately have a superior will. Katakuri also lost in a fair fight with Luffy, as he noticed his rival’s Haki rapidly improving as it went on. While perhaps a shift in dynamics, including the presumed death of his mother, may lead the pirate to become ambitious, for the moment he has lost in both clashes of the will presented to him, whether combative or merely within the dynamics of his crew.
5Eustass Kid
Captain Of The Kid Pirates
Eustass Kidshares the same exact ambition as his rival, Monkey D. Luffy: to become King of the Pirates. However, his methods are completely different, with Kid tending not to mind the ramifications of his excessively destructive behavior. After successfully defeating Big Mom with aid from Trafalgar D. Water Law, Kid attempts to go after another Pirate Emperor.
However, his overestimation of himself, along with his destructive tendencies, ultimately led to his defeat. Using his Haki to foresee the mass destruction an unfettered Kid could bring about,Shanks defeated Kid himself, while Dorry and Broggy destroyed his ship. This was accomplished in part by Shanks using an attack derived from his superior Conqueror’s Haki. After the Kid Pirates' ship was destroyed, it is unclear if the entire crew perished or not. Nonetheless, Kid proved his willpower then was at least inferior to that of Shanks.
