Familias in theDanMachiseriesare the backbone of Orario, functioning as guild-like groups led by gods and goddesses. However,having a god as a leaderdoesn’t guarantee that a familia will possess great combat ability. While some familias are undeniably powerful, others remain on the weaker side of things but still play essential roles in the city.
The familias in Orario are widely varied, with some focusing on combat operations and monster subjugation while others contribute to making Orario a city fit for adventurers to live in. Ranked not by their contributions but by their lack of combat ability,certain familias are not the most combat-ready in theDanMachiseries.
7Demeter Familia
Orario’s Food Source
The Demeter Familiais by no means a minor familia, but in accordance with the witll of their goddess,they focus more on food productionthan combat. Very few familias would dare to attack the Demeter Familia, because they serve as the food lifeline of Orario. In terms of members, the Demeter Familia has more people than even the Ganesha Familia, but the vast majority of them have no combat prowess.
The Demeter Familia has a few level threes and fours among them. Still, with the vast majority of their members being non-combatants, they need to catch up to other mainstream familias when it comes to fighting ability.
6Apollo Familia
A Familia That Chooses Beauty Over Strength
The Apollo Familiawas never the strongest or most renowned in the city of Orario; however, their reputation hit rock bottom after losinga war game to the Hestia Familia, a familia that barely contained four individuals at the time, goddess included.
Before their great fall, the Apollo Familia had over 100 people, some of whom were forcibly recruited, but they were all beautiful individuals as they were handpicked by Apollo himself. Unfortunately, it seems the God of the Sun prioritized looks over combat ability, as his familia was largely composed of level-two adventurers. The only known level three was their captain, Hyakinthos Clio.
5Takemikazuchi Familia
A Haven For Orphans Not Designed For Rivalry
This familia wasn’t necessarily created to be strong, to rival Orario’s top dogs, or even average adventurers. It was created for orphans taken in by Takemikazuchi, a god who lived in the Far East and later relocated to Orario.
The Takemikazuchi Familiacomprises six orphans, all of whom are level two. A stand-out member, Mikoto, temporarily left the familia to support the Hestia Familia and Bell Cranel in the War Game, and has been there ever since. By the time she returns, she is expected to be a level three adventurer, and while it’s not a huge boost, it’ll make her familia just a little bit stronger.
4Dian Cecht Familia
The Divine Healers Of Orario Don’t Fight, They Heal
In Irish mythology, Dian Cecht is known as the God of Healing and the physician of the gods. His healing skills have made his familia a highly relevant one inthe Labyrinth City of Orario. However, that doesn’t make them powerful.
The Dian Cecht Familiafocuses on medicine, and healing potions in general. During the Dark Era of Orario, where wars were springing up daily, they supplied prosthetics to the many adventurers who lost their limbs. As a familia, many of them are level two, including their captain, Airmid Teasanare. As the head doctor, Airmid is known as the best healer in Orario, but her combat abilities pale in comparison to most mainstream adventurers.
3Miach Familia
A Healing Familia Struggling To Revive
Like the Dian Cecht Familia,this familia is one based on healing. However, they recently suffered a great catastrophe. During a certain unfortunate event, the captain ofthe Miach Familia, Naaza Erisuis, was trapped in the dungeon and had her limbs eaten by monsters.
To help the captain of his familia, Miach incurred a large debt to get her a prosthetic arm from the Dian Cecht Familia, and many of his members left due to the sheer amount of the debt they were shouldering. With only three level three adventurers, Naaza included, the Miach familia isn’t much to speak about, at least for the time being, as Naaza strives to revive it.
2Soma Familia
A Focus On Addiction And Chaos Wrecked Them
Regardless of what they set out to do, any familia, particularly exploration types, require strength to protect themselves from potential dangers and enemies. However, the “ambitious"Soma Familiadecided to pursue business and not strength.
Their former captain, Zanis Lustra, was a level two adventurer, anda sadist and sinister manwho converted every member of his familia into a soma addict despite their overall insignificance. Thankfully, Zanis was deposed and has now been replaced by Chandra Ihit. However, reviving their familia will not be easy. They’re still not focused on acquiring strength, just business, but in a more legal way than before.
1Sobek Familia
The Declining Legacy Of An Egyptian God
The Sobek Familiahas not always borne the distinction of being one of the weakest. However, after losing tothe legendary Zeus and Hera familias, they’ve been in decline and unable to make a comeback ever since. Their battle against the Zeus and Hera familias happened 27 years ago, with the Set and Osiris familias at their side. But they all lost.
Sobek, the Egyptian god associated with the Nile river, fertility, and military prowess, is still active, but the only known member of his familia is a tour guide, known as Enna, and she hates to work, SUGGESTING little hope for the familia.
