Summary
Among the myriad of itemsplayers can find inThrone and Liberty, some are more valuable than others, but every small object in the game, be it a consumable or material, has their uses. So, knowing what to buy and what not to buy from merchants is alsosomething all new players need to learn.
From spending money recklessly on equipment they won’t need, to wasting precious currency on items that can be obtained more easily, these are a few things players should not buy from merchants in Amazon’s new MMORPG.
1Basic Equipment
It Drops Everywhere, And Its A Reward From Quests
Of all the things that players could buy from Merchants, basic equipment (white quality, tier 0) is the least of their priorities. Since the game starts at a really slow pace but picks up speed as the players finish the second and third codex entries, players will be completing dozens of quests and secondary objectives, most of which will lead to obtaining equipment that is better than that sold by Merchants.
That is without mentioning that the object drops are quite abundant foran MMORPG made by the creators ofLineage 2. Players will have plenty of chances to get lots of equipment, including weapons, accessories, and armor throughout their adventures. They are better saving up Sollant than spending it on waste items.
2Recovery Crystals
The Most Common Reward From Quests, Players Will Have Hundreds Of Them In No Time
By the time players hit level 20, they would have around 200 Recovery Crystals stocked up thanks to the final rewards of various activities. Since the Amitoi offers a constant healing source that makes players completely healthy in a few seconds (as long as they possess World Tree Leaves), and the Recovery Crystals are an emergency consumable with a long cooldown, players won’t use too many.
That’s why wasting money on the Sundries Merchant and purchasing these for 500 Sollant, when they could instead buy World Tree Leaves for 20 Sollant each, doesn’t make any sense at all. At the end of the day, there are more consistent healing methods to complement the Amitoi healing skill, like foods that offer extra regeneration.
3Mana Regen Potions
Sold From The Guild Vendor, But Save Your Coins
A similar case to that of the Recovery Crystal, the Mana Recovery Potion is sold for Guild Coins in the Guild Merchant. But is it really necessary to have them? It’s a complex answer since it will depend on the mana usage of each player. Some skills require more mana usage than others, but there are plenty of alternatives to use Mana Recovery Potions, like the Staff “Inner Peace” skill, which actively recovers mana upon casting it.
The thing is, there’s no need to purchase these potions since they’re also a typical reward from various activities that players will complete constantly. In the worst-case scenario, they could evencraft them using their Cooking skill, so, there’s no true need to waste Guild Coins for these pots. Besides, there are plenty of cooking recipes that help with Mana Recovery.
4Guild Base Teleport Scroll
An Absolute Waste Of Guild Coins
If there’s an item that is practically useless, that is the Guild Base Teleport Scroll. In the best-case scenario, players will be using this item sparingly, when they are really short on time and need topop into the Guild Base immediately. Otherwise, it is just a waste of 5 Guild Coins.
Throne and Libertyhas a pretty fair and efficient teleport system, where players can simply choose the location of the city they want to go to, and then walk into the Guild Base, which is probably just a few steps away from the teleporter. Simple as that, and they avoid wasting precious currency on a waste of inventory space.
5Basic Gemstones For Contract Coins
There Are Better Ways To Invest That Currency
Gemstones of High Quality (green - Tier 1) are abundant inThrone and Liberty. They come in various shapes, names, and colors, but all of them have their utility, like crafting special recipes, objects, and in some cases, skill books. But there is a vendor that sells them, and what’s more, with a weekly/daily purchase limit. So, among all the things that are a total waste to purchase in a Merchant, Basic Gemstones should definitely be out of the players' grocery shop list.
Since there are dozens of ways to get these items, why would they want to waste Contract Coins that are hard to farm, and could be invested in better items? Like the Epic Weapon Selection chest, sold for 1500 Contract Coins, or the Precious Blessing Pouches, sold for 200 coins (100 more than the Gemstones) and can yield items like Armor, Accessories, Materials, and surprisingly, Tier 2 and 3 Gemstones. In other words: save Contract Coins for those purchases.
