There are a lot of areas to explore inThrone and Liberty; each one comes with its own batch of side quests that players can completevia the Codex entries. These quests unlock after activating the Waystone of an area so that it will appear on the player’s map. And while most areas will appear on the map, there is one that is hidden away from the others: the Ant Nest. This area is found to the northeast of Vienta Village, just below the icon for the Raging Wilds on the map. It comes with a tricky little quest calledBeginning of Misfortune.

This area is no jokewith its swarms of ants all over the place, and these can group up rather quickly to overwhelm players. While the recommended level for the Ant Nest area is 35 at a minimum, people should bea few levels above thatto have an easier time. Beginning of Misfortune involves taking on a lot of big enemies in the Ant Nest, so having asmuch power in their attacksis essential to survival. Here is everything that players need to know about finding success in Beginning of Misfortune.

Throne and Liberty - Beginning of Misfortune

How To Complete Beginning Of Misfortune

There are three objectivesthat players will have to complete for this quest:

While one of these is pretty simple to take down, the other twocan be a little tricky.

Throne and Liberty - Honeypot Ant Egg

Collect A Page From Collection: Expedition Records: Ant Nest

No icon for this page’s location will appear on the map, though it isn’t too tough to find. It can be found early on in the Ant Nest, just above the Food Storage areaof the section.

When entering the larger area of the Ant Nest, players can find several pits they can drop into. One of these has somethingcalled a “Mysterious Note,“which is the page you are looking for. Interact with it to pick it up to complete this objective.

Throne and Liberty - Giant Acid Ant

Honeypot Ant Location

This is the trickiest part of the quest, giving players a lot of trouble to find the Honeypot Ant and then defeat it as well. The problem is that thereare no icons on the mapor any indications of where to find the Honeypot Ant in the nest.

There are several locations where a Honeypot Ant can spawn, and the southern area of the Ant Nest seems to be a great bet for finding one. Players need to be on the lookout for giant, glowing eggs;this is the Honeypot Ant.

In order to get the Honeypot Ant to come out of this egg, playersneed to defeat the smaller ants around it. This is easier said than done, as they will swarm as mentioned before. Players need to keep moving so they don’t get surrounded.

Using anypowerful AoE attackswill help a lot in taking these smaller ants out.

Luckily, once the Honeypot Ant does come,it’s not too difficult. Players just need to hit it withtheir biggest attacks, and it will go down without much of a fight.

Defeat Giant Acid Ant

The easiest part of the quest comes withicons on the mini-mapfor players to find one of these Giant Acid Ants. They’re everywhere and won’t be too difficult to track down.

Even better, they go down easily — as long as players hit them with some strong attacks. They just have to mind the smaller enemies around the Giant Acid Ant, or else they can findthemselves quickly outnumbered.
