Taedal’s Tower 14th Floor Boss In Throne And Liberty

TheOld Wizard’s Eye(Beholder for friends and family) is the typical Huge Eye monster that shoots laser beams and kills you instantly with its gaze. So, with that in mind, there are two separate mechanics players need to be aware of before facing it inThrone and LibertyTaedal’s Tower.Let’s take a look at them in detail:

Players should bring lots of consumables likeHigh-Quality Recovery Crystals, thatyou can purchase from the Guild Coin Merchants, since it is probably they’ll need the extra healing before the fight is over.

Every Dodge/Block Active skill has a “cooldown” of its own, so spamming it is not a possibility. Timing is essential to Block perfectly and mitigate all damage, so when facing enemies such as the Old Wizard’s Eye. players need to be extremely careful not to fail a parry. Otherwise, they will face a horrendous death.

The boss has some pretty annoying attacks and a sequence speed that will put some of the Souls-like bosses to shame. In fact, players might be able to hit one or two skillshots between each wave of attacks, and the rest of the fight is mostly positioning themselves away from AoE, dodging the Death Gaze, and jumping when the boss slams the floor. Now, let’s see what this eyesore of an enemy can do during combat.

Remember:Food Buffs are important for Boss Fights: Players can have three different active food buffs at the same time: Utility, Damage/Defense, and Miscellaneous. Players will easily identify them by reading the consumables description and by their characteristic icons. A good strategy is to eat three different types of food that complement each other and that have the same quality, so the duration of the buffs matches.

Best Strategy For The Old Wizard’s Eye In Throne And Liberty

For Melee Players

Engage the boss in a circular pattern, never stop moving, and if possible, move clockwise to dodge the AoEDark Energy Blastcauses. When the boss starts aiming itsDeath Laser, make sure to stand still and block timely, to perfect parry and cause damage as well as stun the boss.

The Greatsword skillDaVinci’s Couragegrants attack speed, damage mitigation, and healing, and the Sword Shield skillImmortal Pridehas great mitigation as well. For Sword/Shield and Greatsword players, having theBrutal Warrior Valkargguardian can make a great difference, because it can accumulate up to 4000% of the damage dealt and deliver it back to the boss when perfectly parrying an attack.

For Daggers users, the skillShadow Strikeis perfect for dodging Death Gaze and Dark Energy Blast and its annoying AoE. Consider bringing it as a complement to theBlock Bladeparry/dodge skill.

Activate it and return all the hurt that the Eye caused for an easy win, but watch out for itsDeath GazeandBody Slam attacksbecause they will be the boss finishing moves if it notices it took too much damage.

Someblock skillsmight be less effective than others in terms of Damage Negation/Mitigation, so players need to be aware of this. Having a good Block skill is critical for this fight, and bringing out the wrong move could make things difficult for them. Also: make sure to have the Block skill leveled up, as some players prefer not to “waste Skill Growth Books” on them, and that’s a mistake.Throne and Libertyheavily relies on the block/parry mechanic for its fights, so always have the block skills up to date with the rest of the build.

For Ranged Players

Longbow and Crossbow users should refrain from remaining static and use Charge attacks during this fight. The same can be said for Staffand Wand users. Instead, use instant cast abilities and keep moving counterclockwise to avoid the AoE and timely Dodge when the Boss aims itsDeath Laser.

Mitigation can be a problem for squishier characters, so we highly recommendLady Knight KamarsheaGuardian, since it will grant a shield equal to 50% of their maximum mana pool, and provide a whopping 40% cooldown reduction. Shoot spells/skills and keep moving, and when the time comes, jump in the air to prevent the Body Slam attack from ruining the strategy.

If players get too far away from the Old Wizard’s Eye, it will commence its Body Slam sequence and spam it until it catches them off guard. Then, use the Death Laser to destroy them, so keep fighting at a mid-distance and running around it to prevent this from happening.

The Staff’sMystic Shielddraws the shorter straw in this fight and needs to be perfectly timed when the boss shoots its Fury Attack, otherwise, it will be game over. In the case of the LongbowOvertakerskill, something similar happens, causing the player to lose adequate distance and can cause severe harm to them if miscalculated.
