Summary

Tower of Godseason 2 continues withthe Workshop Battle arc, which started on Sunday, October 6. Without skipping a beat, the series gets into the swing of things as the Workshop Battle begins. Much like the tests that take place on the various Floors of the Tower, the Workshop Battle kicks off with a challenge that could potentially turn teammates into enemies. Jue Viole Grace’s notoriety as a FUG Slayer Candidate precedes him, and a lot of Regulars want the chance to prove their mettle against him, including many of his former teammates like Endorsi and Anaak Jahad, and even Shibisu.

A new character is introduced, and Viole is immediately caught up in his situation, while Khun shows exactly why he’s such a major player on any team he’s on. While fans hoped that this important part of the story would see the visuals of the series get better, such improvement is sadly only going to be seen in flashes, if at all.

Viole and the Traveller – Tower of God Season 2 Episode 14

Viole’s New Friend

A New Character is Introduced

As seen at the end of the previous episode, Viole saw a young man wearing a cowl running away from a group of metal men. He is cornered in an alley as he turns to pick up his cell phone, but Viole intervenes. However, when the threat is dispelled, the young man admonishes him for saving his life. It turns out that the pursuers were actually Workshop patrol, and destroying them causes even stronger robots to take their place. The young man went back for his phone because he relies heavily on intel from the chatbot, EMILE. He leads Viole to an area fitted with a Shinsu jammer. According to the young man, who prefers to be called “Traveller”, one would need to be at leastas strong as a Princess of Jahadto defeat the improved robots he dubs “Blue Dogs”.

The Red Carpet Leading Up to the Workshop Battle

Endorsi is Ready to Take on Jue Viole Grace

In the two days prior to the official commencement of the Workshop Battle, a red carpet event is held where journalists hold interviews with various characters, focusing mostly on Princess Endorsi. When asked if she has her eye on any opponents, she proclaims that she will be the one to defeat Jue Viole Grace, resulting in thunderous applause from Ja Wangnan and Dan, Endorsi super fans who don’t realise how close to meeting her they actually are due to their connection to Khun.As Shibisu’s interview is shown on the TV, a broadcast takes over the airwaves, one that will describe a game that the 1488 Regulars waiting to participate in the Workshop Battle can play to earn themselves an opportunity to board the Archimedes, and therefore gain the actual right to participate in the Workshop Battle. There are only 248 boarding passes available, meaning that the majority of Regulars who worked themselves to the bone just to gain entry to the event won’t even get to see it begin.

A New Game Begins

One Shot Opportunity

Using guns delivered to them from the Workshop, each Regular is given a single bullet, but they are allowed to steal guns and bullets from their opponents. If they take out another Regular, they gain entry to the Archimedes, but if they miss, they are out. Once the first bullet is fired, the guns' selection lever is activated, enablingone of two modes; light and dark. Getting hit with a light shot sends you to the Archimedes, and the very first person to get hit with one will receive a treasure called a Blood Tamara, while the one who sends the most participants to the Archimedes will receive a Heavenly White Mirror, the significance of which hasn’t been explained yet.

There are also cute fluttering fairies called Bongbongs that grant whoever catches them a rare item and a boarding pass. With dark shots being riskier, many Regulars will opt for shooting their teammates, which is what Khun pretends to do to Wangnan in order to attract attention so that he can steal the bullets from whoever showed up. With two bullets secured, Khun has an advantage over other Regulars. He then gets a call from Goseng, who tells him that she, Arkraptor and Yihwa have been separated from Miseng and Prince.

The Cunning Endorsi

“We’re Going To Hunt FUG”

Meanwhile, Shibisu’s squadron of Hak and Anaak have to travel to the site of the action, but their trip is cut short when Endorsi shows up with four Regulars and their guns. They are journalists who are outraged that the princess who said she’d take on Viole and FUG, by extension, is attacking “decent” people like them instead of going for the FUG operatives located at a nearby hotel. As soon as the others leave, one of the men asks the princess how his acting was, because the whole encounter was orchestrated by Endorsi to manipulate her teammates into prioritizing finding FUG while she goes for Viole.

She uses EMILE to locate Viole’s position, while his FUG teammates have no idea where he could’ve gone. To add to their worries, Anaak Jahad has her eye on them. They also notice Hak and Shibisu watching them, not knowing that Endorsi has gone to find Viole specifically. Team FUG wonders if they should wait for Viole to return, or advance without him. With their eyes fixed on the rapidly dwindling number of remaining participants, they decide to head out when there are less than 100 participants left.

The Twenty-Fifth Bam

Have Bam and Endorsi Been Reunited?

EMILE tells Endorsi that Viole is in block D2. There, we see him help Traveller set up his gear, and how they become acquainted. He tells Viole that he was being chased by Workshop patrol robots because he’s trying to save the person he loves, whom he suggests is the grand prize that will be bestowed on the victor of the Workshop Battle. As he talks about this special person, Viole is reminded of Rachel (ew!),but their conversation is interrupted when they’re attacked by a very dangerous-looking robot. Viole prepares to engage it in combat when a familiar face comes literally falling from the sky: enter, Endorsi Jahad. This final moment of the episode is extremely dramatic, and does a fair job at piquing viewers' interest for the next episode, not to mentionthe prospect of an Anaak momentin the following episode.
