Summary

Tower of Godseason 2, episode 16, was a great episode in terms of plot development as the pre-Workshop Battle battle royale to board the Archimedes reaches its conclusion. Team Sweet and Sour move on ahead without Prince and Miseng, while Ja Wangnan and a reluctant Khun Aguero Agnes go looking for them. With less than 100 participants left, the battlefield has gotten even more chaotic, and Viole is put under pressure as he is reunited withmore of his friends from a long time ago, including Shibisu and Anaak.

This episode had a surprising moment in animation during Viole’s fight against Shibisu’s team, and was a rare instance of theTower of Godanime’s second season getting decent visuals to go with the fascinating developments in its plot. To top things off, we finally have Endorsi learning about Viole’s true identity.

Verdi’s New Dolls Prince and Miseng – Tower of God Season 2 Episode 16

Ja Wangnan Finds Prince and Miseng

The Kidnapper is Dangerous

The episode kicks off with Ja Wangnan spying on the little girl with the giant octopus seen holding onto Miseng and Prince in the previous episode. The strange situation is off-putting, and he can’t find a decent moment to strike. At first, Aguero tells him he’s on his own, since he was against coming to look for them in the first place, but after Ja Wangnan insisted, going as far as to threaten himself with a dark bullet, Khun acquiesced.

When he recognizes the little girl as Verdi, a puppet user on Shibisu’s team, Khun goes pale as he tells Wangnan not to engage under any circumstances, which tells us that Verdi is most likely a very powerful individual. Wangnan is forced to just watch as the giant octopus starts glowing, not knowing how important that girl’s activities are tothe battle taking place elsewhere. Later in the episode, he and Khun decide to go on to the Archimedes, as Verdi sends Prince and Miseng up there in any case.

Endorsi Realizes Bam is Alive – Tower of God Season 2 Episode 16

Team Shibisu vs Team FUG

Viole Puts a Wrench in Shibisu’s Plan

The situation at the hotel where Team FUG is staying picks up from where the previous episode left off, with Viole getting in between the ongoing battle between Anaak Jahad and Khun Ran, both of whom he sends to the Archimedes. With help from one of the dolls Verdi controls, Shibisu manages to use a ring that blocks the wearer’s Shinsu output, putting Viole in a tough position as he can’t muster the usual power that enables him to breeze past enemies. The ring is created by Verdi’s giant octopus, which siphons whatever Shinsu Viole attempts to manipulate. Yuto, one of his teammates on Team FUG, sustains a life-threatening blow from Vespa, an individual with abilities similar to bees and other Apoidea. The wound is pumped with a heavy poison that will kill her if the honey containing the antidote is not administered in five minutes. Desperate to avoid any deaths, Viole goes all out, unleashing the power within himself that he has kept hidden except for brief moments;the same power Ilmar Beniamino asked him aboutbefore leaving to find Cassano.

Ilmar’s suspicion that Viole has similar powers to his and Cassano’s “Devil of the Right/Left Arm”, making him another Ignition Weapon. In previous glimpses of this strange power dwelling inside Bam, it has been the source of his rapid regeneration ability, making this the first time we see it in an offensive situation. Like Ilmar and Cassano Beniamino, Viole has a wing-like appendage made of a strange light spring forth from his back. For him, the light looks a lot more like an actual wing, and itboosts his attack power considerably.

Tower of God

We are treated to a piece of enjoyable animation as Viole activates this power and charges at Shibisu’s ally, Amigo, and there’s even an epic impact frame that caps off a pretty decent fight sequence and a great look at the devilish power Viole has been hiding. He makes quick work of Vespa, and forces a negotiation with Shibisu: in exchange for their bullets and the antidote honey, Viole will send Shibisu and all his comrades to the Archimedes. Novick asks him why he saved Anaak as well, but Viole doesn’t answer, instead asking Novick to send Riplejo to the Archimedes under the guise of it being an order from Viole.

The Workshop Battle Begins For Real

Endorsi Learns a Shocking Truth

With the number of participants hitting zero, the Workshop Battle is finally set to take place aboard the Archimedes; however, bad news for Team Shibisu as it looks like they’re going to have to compete without Endorsi, who was left behind because she had her hands full taking down the horde of sentry robots that Traveller and Viole left her with.

After taking down the last one, Endorsi luckily runs into Traveller, whom she interrogates aboutthe whereabouts of Jue Viole Grace. However, he is confused because the guy he was with isn’t Viole, but The Twenty-Fifth Bam. It takes Endorsi a moment to process what he said. Overall, episode 16 ofTower of Godseason 2 was decent, and it strung together a number of important plot points with a good reveal of the latent power Bam/Viole has been hiding.
