Ubisoft is lowering the price of the Collector’s Edition ofAssassin’s Creed Shadowsto $230. The new pricing reflects the recently revised content model thatAssassin’s Creed Shadowswill adopt.
Back when Ubisoft revealed its feudal Japan-era ARPG in May 2024, it said that the game would come with a season pass, as well as three days' worth of early access. Both were part of the higher-tiereditions ofAssassin’s Creed Shadows.
But much has changed since then, with Ubisoft scrapping the season pass and early access ideas in September 2024, when it alsotreatedAssassin’s Creed Shadowsto a lengthy delay. As a result, the gaming giant is now revising some of its product pricing, with a company representative revealing as much in a late October FAQ shared via the officialAssassin’s CreedDiscord server. Specifically, the Collector’s Edition of the upcoming game is now planned to have an MSRP of $229.99 / €239.99 for consoles and $229.99 / €229.99 for PC.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows Pre-Orders Are Yet to Reopen
Collector’s Edition pre-orders were initially priced at $279.99. All of them were automatically refunded following the game’s delay announcement. Seeing how even the$280 edition ofAssassin’s Creed Shadowsquickly sold outin many major markets, its more affordable successor likely won’t be available for too long, either. Ubisoft still hasn’t reopened pre-orders for the game, and it’s yet to clarify when it plans to do so.
AlthoughAssassin’s Creed Shadowswon’t have a season pass, it’s still planned to receive post-launch expansions, of which Ubisoft has so far confirmed two. The first of those will be free for anyone who pre-orders the open-world RPG, and is projected to arrive in the second half of 2025, possibly near the end of the year. The game itself is currently targeting a February 14 release. Its Collector’s Edition will also include some day-one content, like the Sekiryu Dual Pack comprising weapons and gear for both protagonists. A Sekiryu Hideout Pack with four ornaments that can be used to customize one’s home base will also be part of the package, together with five Mastery Points. These bonuses are equivalent to what the Ultimate Edition of the game will offer.
Ubisoft cited a need to further polish its upcoming action RPG as the main reason for its three-month delay. According to one recent report, the company is alsoworking on adding a co-op mode toAssassin’s Creed Shadows, which is planned to debut post-release.
