Gamers have encountered plenty of glitches in Bungie’s popular looter shooter ever since the title was released in 2017. There were ones tied to the exotic fusion rifle Telesto that were so severe that the gun had to be disabled several times. In the previous season, Episode: Echoes, players discovered a glitch inDestiny 2’s 12-man Excision activitythat essentially gave Guardians unlimited Supers. More recently, a bug that affected the game’s camera was reported, but this particular glitch has unexpectedly been welcomed by many members of the community.

Posting on theDestiny 2subreddit, user CaptainKurley shared how their gun glitched out as they were picking up nodes in a secret section of the Encore: Overture Exotic mission for the Choir of One, a special auto rifle that can only be obtained past the third act ofThe Final ShapeDLC. This bug caused CaptainKurley’s character to lose their weapons while in a dark area, seemingly robbing their character of their ability to fight enemies. Because the flashlight from CaptainKurley’s Ghost was still up,Destiny 2became less of a first-person shooter and more of ahorror game that leaves its players defenseless, likeAmnesia: The Dark DescentorOutlast.
