Summary
Nevermore Academy is the perfect place for teenagers with special powers. The teachers are understanding (when they aren’t evil like Christina Ricci’s Marilyn Thornhill/Lauren Gates). The other students are facing the same ups and downs. And the atmosphere is comforting and supportive. It was a lot of fun diving into the magical world ofWednesdayseason 1, and when the popularNetflixseries returns for its second season, one character needs a specific storyline.
HopefullyWednesdayseason 2 includes the Addams Family mansionand more hilarious scenes featuring Jenna Ortega’s Wednesday Addams standing up for herself. While the second season will no doubt be just what fans want, it would also be great ifone character’s magical abilities are explored in more detail.
Wednesday Season 2 Needs To Dive Into Enid Sinclair’s Werewolf Journey
Wednesdayseason 2 needs to show Enid Sinclair (Emma Myers) having a hard time with her werewolf abilities. In the first episode, the character should struggle to control them. This would make for some hilarious and emotional scenes. SinceEnid’s powers include shapeshifting and strength, it would be funny and logical if she kept throwing objects across the room without meaning to. There could also be a memorable montage of Enid practicing her powers. It would also be cool to seeWednesday and Enid working on their powers together.
Wednesdayseason 2 also needs to show how Enid’s first transformation affected her and that she has changed significantly since season 1. As Enid is a kind-hearted and sometimes easily influenced character in the first season, it would make sense if she emerged as a tougher person who doesn’t care what people think of her. It would only be logical if being friends with the bitter and sarcastic Wednesday motivated Enid to take on some of these qualities. There could be a humorous scene where Enid sounds just as harsh as Wednesday does, and the two could laugh about it.
Enid could want to develop as a werewolf for two reasons: becauseshe feels insecure about being a late bloomer and because she wants to help withthe quest to find Wednesday’s stalker. Withoutfocusing on cheesy young adult tropes,Wednesdayseason 2 should prove that Enid has experienced the kind of strong and well-written growth that all TV fans look for. Enid survived nearly getting killed in season 1, and she knows that if she can work on her abilities, she’ll be unstoppable.
Finally, exploring Enid’s journey as a werewolf is another way to ensurethere are more monsters inWednesdayseason 2. Enid could come across some darker, more evil werewolves in the forest surrounding Nevermore, which could make for an action-packed and riveting battle scene.
When Does Enid Become A Werewolf In Wednesday Season 1?
Enid turns into a werewolf inWednesdayseason 1, episode 8 and battles Tyler Galpin (Hunter Doohan). Enid “wolfs out,” which is entertaining but terrifying. WhenTyler, who is in Hyde Monster formthrows her against a tree,Sheriff Donovan Galpin (Jamie McShane)saves Enid by shooting the Hyde. This is an important scene since it not only allows viewers to see Enid in her full werewolf form, but also proves she has a long way to go before becoming as powerful as she can be.
Enid would be compelling if she was human, but the fact that she’s a werewolf adds some layers to her.Enid may need to work on her physical strength, but she’s tough in other ways, including in oneWednesdayseason 1 scene when she tells Wednesday she needs to be a better, more loyal, and more compassionate pal. Enid says:
“I’ve tried… really, really, REALLY hard to be your friend. Put myself out there. Thought of your feelings. Told people, “I know she gives off serial killer vibes, but she’s really just shy.”
When Wednesday says “I didn’t ask you to do that,” Enid says:
“You didn’t have to because that’s what friends do! You don’t have to be asked. The fact that you don’t know that says everything.”
As shown by this smart scene and Enid’s overall character arc, Enid is one of the strongest characters onWednesday.IfWednesdayseason 2 focuses on the various cliquesin a more serious way, that gives viewers the opportunity tolearn more about Enid’s werewolf abilities. This can only be a positive move for the popular series.
