Arcane’ssecond season is approaching and, beyond what’s been teased in trailers, it remains a surprise as to where things could go in the climactic finale to Vi and Jinx’s story. However, some clues can be gleaned from the marketing for Netflix’s animated series.

Arcaneis an adaptation of Riot Games' popular online multiplayer gameLeague of Legends. It provides an epic backstory to theLoLchampions and locations many players know and love, with Season 1 primarily focused on the sibling relationship between Vi and Jinx, who find themselves separated on opposite sides of a brewing war between Piltover and Zaun. Season 1 ended things on a dramatic cliffhanger, with Jinx choosing to turn on her father-figure Silco, before blasting a rocket straight at the Piltover ruling council. Heading into Season 2, there are a few hints and clues about where the new episodes will go after this finale, based on the posters released by Netflix so far.

Jinx and Vi’s Sibling Relationship in Season 2

In Season 1 it was established that Jinx and Vi had a close sibling relationship in Act 1, with Vi constantly protecting her sister from the harsh realities of the world. After Vi is imprisoned and Jinx is adopted by Silco, they are separated for many years. When Vi is released from prison, her one goal is to reunite with her sister and rescue her from the clutches of Silco, but she finds that Jinx is not the same sibling she remembers and the trauma of Vi leaving has left an irreversible mark on her psyche. WithJinx rejecting Vi and her old identityas Powder in the Season 1 finale, this sets things up for an interesting new chapter in their dynamic.

One of the Season 2 posters forArcanereleased by Netflix shows Jinx holding Vi close to her chest, with the spotlight on Vi’s obscured but frantic expression. This poster actually mirrors one that was released in Season 1, which showed Vi holding a young and scared Powder in a close embrace. The reversal of this poster suggests that the dynamic of power between Vi and Jinx will be flipped in Season 2, with Jinx possibly having a hold on Vi that she can’t escape.

Noxus Could Play a Big Part in the Coming War

The empire of Noxus was introduced late intoArcane’sfirst season, with the arrival of Mel Medarda’s mother, Ambessa. Mel is an established counselor reigning on Piltover’s council, butshe originally hails from Noxusand was seemingly ostracized when her morals came into conflict with her mother’s more ruthless worldview.

Despite Ambessa Medarda having only a small role in the final two episodes ofArcaneSeason 1, Netflix’s poster art seems to hint that she will play a much larger part in Season 2. Ambessa is featured prominently on one ofArcaneSeason 2’s posters, alongside Jinx, Vi and Caitlyn. Interestingly, other main characters like Mel or Jayce don’t appear on this poster, but this could be put down to the creatives wanting to refrain from spoiling which council members survive the events of the Season 1 finale. However, that shouldn’t stopcharacters like Heimerdinger, Ekko or Sevikafrom appearing in promotional art. In this case, it seems like Ambessa is spotlighted because she will be more prominently featured in the upcoming season, which means her nation of Noxus will likely also play a large role in the war between Piltover and Zaun.

Caitlyn’s Mission in Season 2

In Season 1 it was established that Caitlyn loved solving a mystery and went to extreme lengths to understand who was producing Shimmer in the undercity. Caitlyn’s Season 2 character poster plays on that trait, showing the character in her enforcer outfit, determinedly facing a pinboard of red string that all points to one person: Jinx. This suggests a couple of things, one of which is that Caitlyn will remain an enforcer in Season 2. This aligns withherLeague of Legendscharacter in the game, but with the death of Marcus in Season 1, this could open the door for Caitlyn to step up into a leadership role amongst the enforcers.

Some theories also suggest that Caitlyn’s mother, Cassandra Kiramman, may be one of thecouncil members who dies at the end of Season 1. If this turns out to be the case, it would make sense why Caitlyn is so hell-bent on taking down Jinx, as apprehending her would give her justice for her mother.

Jinx Could Face Some Perilous Situations

As one of the main characters, it’s unsurprising to seeJinx featured in many of theArcaneSeason 2 posters, but she’s often depicted in some tense situations. One poster shows Vi screaming, with Jinx’s fingers covering her eyes. While this continues to hint at the strained sibling relationship the two will have in the upcoming season, what’s more interesting is that one of Jinx’s fingers seems to have been replaced with a metal prosthetic. Last audiences saw Jinx, she still had all her fingers intact, so one theory going around suggests that she will lose her middle finger at some point during Season 2, but how and when remains a surprise.

A secondArcaneposter also features Jinx, this time upside down with a strangled look on her face as she is clutched around the neck. This certainly implies Jinx will find herself in some perilous situations in the upcoming season, particularly with so many different characters on a warpath to stop her. What’s more interesting, however, is that she appears to be being strangled by a metal gauntlet. The gauntlets are typically Vi’s weapon of choice, which means it could hint atVi being the one to take down Jinx in the end.

ArcaneSeason 2 will be released in three parts on Netflix on November 9, November 16, and November 23.
