Unfortunately, not many specifics have been revealed about the event.

While Bungie has revealed what Halloween-themed ornamentsDestiny 2players will have a chance to obtain during this year’s Festival of the Lost, the developer has yet to divulge what activity the event might center around or what weapons players might be able to acquire. That being said, it’s possible to speculate on what this year’s Festival of the Lost might entail when looking back at past iterations of the event.

What 2024’s Festival of the Lost May and Will Bring to Destiny 2

2024’s Festival of the Lost May See a Repeat of 2023’s Iteration of the Event

Over the last few years,Destiny 2’s Festival of the Lost has largely incorporated the same gameplay loop. Players begin by visiting Eva Levante in the Tower to pick up a quest that introduces them to the core gameplay loop for Festival of the Lost, which typically involves wearing masks, acquiring currency, converting that currency, and then bringing it to Eva for rewards. 2022’s Festival of the Lost introduced anEvent Cardthat gave players a number of optional objectives to complete that would unlock cosmetics and other rewards. As such, it’s likely all of that will return again in this year’s Festival of the Lost.

That said,2023’s Festival of the Lostsaw a number of changes introduced to the event’s weary formula, garnering more praise than usual for its willingness to take things a step further. As such, it would make sense ifDestiny 2were to repeat last year’s iteration of the event. Specifically, 2023’s Festival of the Lost introduced Legend Haunted Sectors and Eerie Engrams, both of which were received rather well. Additionally, 2023’s iteration of the event also included a special all-black Memento that served as a decent attention-grabber.

With the addition of the Superblack shader in April 2024, if this year’s Festival of the Lost does feature a new Memento as a reward, it’s likely to be a different color.

Bungie Has Revealed This Year’s Festival of the Lost Ornaments

Seasonal activity aside, one of the biggest things to look forward to withDestiny 2’s Festival of the Lost eventis a new set of Halloween-themed ornaments players can use to customize their equipment in the game. Every year,Destiny 2releases a brand-new set of ornaments for each class to acquire, and 2024 is no different. Fortunately, while not much else has been revealed about 2024’s Festival of the Lost event, its new ornament set has.

DuringDestiny 2’s recent Episode: Revenantlive stream, Bungie briefly put the new Festival of the Lost ornaments on display, each of which is designed to reflect either a dark (evil) or light (good) wizard.Destiny 2Hunters will be treated to a dark wizard set that features a tattered cloak, a classic wizard hat, steel accents, and a magenta glow proceeding from certain parts of the armor. The Warlock’s 2024 Festival of the Lost ornaments are very similar to the Hunter’s, albeit a bit more on the bulky side. Finally,Destiny 2Titans will have access to a set of “good wizard” ornaments that have a navy blue and gold color scheme, along with several designs reminiscent of the sun scattered around the set.

As usual, players can also expect a weapon grind in 2024’s Festival of the Lost event, along with plenty of masks to celebrate the season. With the event currently scheduled to begin on October 29, it’s likely Bungie will be disclosing more details very soon.
