October is here, and games of all kinds have joined in on Halloween festivities.Disney Dreamlight Valleyhas finally revealed some of its 2024 Halloween plans too, set to begin on October 23. While it’s no surprise thatDisney Dreamlight Valleyis putting on a Halloween event, the lateness of its announcement was surprising considering the game has done Halloween events previously.

With the release of Jungle Getaway on October 9, plenty of new content has been added to the game, including new characters like Timon and Pumbaa fromThe Lion King, a set of quests behind the new characters, and a new Star Pathbased on rock concerts that includes new furniture items. However, the announcement of this update in early October, did not include any mention of Halloween or other spooky themes.

Trick-or-Treating Returns

The game’s social media team quickly announced the return of a fan-favorite event fromDreamlight Valley’s last Halloween. In-gameTrick-or-Treating will return toDreamlight Valleyfrom October 23-31 this year.

While game play for this year’s version of Trick-or-Treating has yet to be unveiled, last year’s event followed a fairly simple pattern. Players were tasked with preparing candy from cocoa beans, sugarcane, and vanilla. They then had to successfully offer their creationsto at least ten of Dreamlight Valley’s residents.

The Trick-or-Treat event didn’t require players to hand out candy to ten specific villagers, rather, just give the candy to ten villagers total. However, with the new Jungle Getaway update being released only a few weeks ahead of the event,Disney Dreamlight Valleyhas the opportunity to up the stakes of the event by making players give the candy to specific villagerslike the newly included Timon and Pumbaa.

Spooky Exclusive Items

The 2023 event rewarded players with a special Mickey Mouse Pumpkin furniture item, exclusive to the event. This year, players will receive Mickey’s Halloween Candy Bowl, which has been making the rounds on social media, including onDisney Dreamlight Valley’s Xaccount and on Nintendo’s website.

Mickey’s Halloween Candy Bowl likely won’t be the only exclusive reward players can earn. Previously, players could earn a Pumpkin Stack furniture item by harvesting a hundred pumpkins over the course of the event, as well as receive a Green Trick or Treater’s Bounty candy bucket after completing a three-course meal of Halloween candy.

Tasty Three-Course-Meals

No comment has been made by Gameloft orDisney Dreamlight Valleyon other tasks and rewards that players should be on the lookout for this Halloween season. With past events and speculation the only fuel to guide fans of the game, including a new twiston the three-course meal Dreamlight Dutywould be welcome.

Considering that event exclusive three-course-meal Dreamlight Duties have been included not just for Halloween, but for Christmas and Easter previously, it would be unsurprising for a Halloween version of the event to come back this year. Rather than collecting items available for year-round three-course-meals, players typically collect event exclusive items for this new version of the classic Dreamlight Duty.

This givesDisney Dreamlight Valleythe opportunity to change what these exclusive holiday event items are. Last Halloween, players had to gather and eat one of each of three specific candies that were only available during the event. These candiescould be found in Halloween-themed bucketsscattered throughout the Plaza.

With this year’s Halloween festivities including the return of Trick-or-Treating, candy could easily be used again for this version of the Halloween three-course-meal. However,Dreamlight Valleycould shake things up by changing thedesigns of the candy available for this Dreamlight Duty. This could extend over to the designs of the candies available for the Trick-or-Treat event as well.

More details onDisney Dreamlight Valley’s Halloween festivities will likely be announced as October 23 approaches. Until then, players will have plenty of time to unlock all the new content found in the game’sJungle Getaway update, released on October 9.
