Cozy Disney-themed simulatorDisney Dreamlight Valleyhas announced its latest update, to release in October 2024. Titled “Jungle Getaway,” the update will introduce two new characters fromThe Lion King,add a new Star Path filled with rewards for players to earn, and return to the game’s main plot with a new development related to the Night Thorns choking the valley. “Jungle Getaway” is a fully free update, the first one following the conclusion ofDisney Dreamlight Valley’spaid “A Rift in Time” expansion, and players can expect a fair bit of content to be added to the game once it launches.
Welcoming Timon And Pumbaa To The Valley
Two new characters will join Dreamlight Valley’s population as part of the Jungle Getaway update: Timon the meerkat and Pumbaa the warthog, Simba’s closest friends. The two will be recruited via the Lion King realm, an already-released realm accessed via the Dream Castle. As threeLion Kingcharacters - Simba, Nala, and Scar - are already present inDisney Dreamlight Valley,it is likely that Timon and Pumbaa’s quests will involve interacting with the three lions.
Like previous Realm-dwelling characters such asMulan, Belle, WALL-E, and the cast ofFrozen,it is likely that players will have to complete a series of Realm Quests before Timon and Pumbaa will move to the Valley. It is unknown whether the two will build their own house or will co-habitate with Simba and Nala in their dwelling. Once they’ve moved in, each character will offer a chain of Friendship Quests, allowing players to earn various themed rewards.
Night Mites: New And Mysterious Creatures
A “Valley Vignette” blog post made in August 2024 revealed that Timon and Pumbaa’s arrival in the Valley would coincide with an invasion of “Night Mites,” mysterious new creatures connected to the Forgetting phenomenon and the Night Thorns that still plague the Valley. Although very little was revealed about these Night Mites, they do seem to herald a return to the Forgetting plotline, which has been largely ignored since theonce-villainous Forgotten’sredemption in a 2023 update.
Will Skull Rock’s Mystery Finally Be Solved?
One hanging thread related to the Forgetting plotline that continues to frustrate players is the mystery ofSkull Rock, a skull-shaped formation in Dreamlight Valley’s Dazzle Beach biome. The Forgotten vaguely recalls a character - theorized by fans to be Peter Pan, Captain Hook, or Jack Sparrow - trapped inside Skull Rock, and a previous Quest began but did not complete the process of unsealing them. It is unconfirmed whether the Skull Rock plot will continue in the next update.

The “Jungle Getaway” update forDisney Dreamlight Valleywill release on June 06, 2025. It is likely that the game’s annual Halloween event, which involves gathering candy around the Valley and using it to craft pumpkins and other spooky decorations, will also occur later in the month.Dreamlight Valley’sdevelopers are also predicted to announce the game’s 2025 roadmap soon, revealing even more exciting content coming to the Valley over the next year.
