Deceit is an ornate rifle that’s perfect for players who prefer precision weapons. It’s one of the many Long Guns inRemnant 2that comes with a unique playstyle, one that might take some time to get used to.
While Deceit may seem weak at first, it can easily dish out tons of damage per shot once players get the hang of how it flows. It’s not as easy or convenient to use as some mostother Long Guns inRemnant 2, but it has a ton of DPS potential waiting for players who can learn how to use it properly.
How To Get Deceit In Remnant 2
This is a craftable boss weapon that you could have McCabe make back in Ward 13. Its main component is theImposter’s Heart, which you may get only bydefeating Faelin in Losomn. This does mean that you need to get theBeatific Palacemap in your Losomn roll. Re-rolling anadventure mode run inRemnant 2is highly recommended.
To avoid confusion, keep in mind that Faelin isthe boss on the light sideof the Beatific Palace. If you want to beat him, you’ll need to side with Faerin, who presides over the palace’s dark side. If you defeat Faerin, you’ll end up getting the Melded Hilt, which is used to make the Godsplitter sword instead.
Faelin is a fairly difficult boss to beat. Learning his moves will take time, but as long as you challenge him with upgraded gear, even starting weapons can do the trick.
Is Deceit Worth It?
Absolutely, unless you’re going for a full melee build. Deceit is a slow-firing Long Gun that trades the ability to hit weakspots for a much higher base critical hit chance. This is an excellent weapon to use withaRemnant 2Archetype like the Hunter, or any class that can make use of crit-based accessories and Mutators.
To make up for its inability to hit weakspots, Deceit has a unique mod calledOuroboros, which spawns a ring of blades around the user. If you use your melee attack, one of the blades will fly toward your target, inflicting them witha debuff that makes all shots from Deceit count as weakspot hits. This, paired with the rifle’s unusually high crit chance, makes Deceit one of the best Long Guns in the game for general mob clearing, and it’s not that bad against Elites and Bosses either.
Coincidentally, players will also getFaerin’s Sigilby going back to Faerin after defeating Faelin. This ringrestores Mod Power with every crit and weakspot hit you score— since you’ll be doing a lot of both with Deceit, especially when Ouroboros is active, you’ll be able to fully recharge your Weapon Mod extremely quickly.
Deceit has a slight charge-up time whenever it’s fired, similar to. This can be improved by using Mutators like Supercharger.
