Summary
World of Warcraftjust revealed a preview of Patch 11.0.7, which is finally adding the long-awaited Stormcrow mount to the game after over a decade. Named Thrayir, Eyes of the Storm, this mount will be obtainable on the Siren Isle, the new endgame zone coming toWorld of Warcraftin the next content update.
On October 22,World of Warcraftreleased Patch 11.0.5. The content update centered around the massive 20th anniversary celebration forWorld of Warcraft, but also included several other features, including an expansion to the classes Dracthyr can choose, as well as several new cosmetic Glyphs for Monks and Shamans.
Not eager to rest on its laurels,World of Warcrafthas already given fans a first look at Patch 11.0.7, the next update planned for early 2025. The patch takes players to the Siren Isle, an island used by the Kul Tirans during the Fourth War as an Azerite mine until its denizens mysteriously vanished. The Siren Isle has recently begun emitting a strange pulse of energy, attracting allied Goblins, Arathi, and Earthen, as well as hostile Naga, pirates, and Vrykul to its shores. Fans can unlock both progression gear and cosmetics through activities on the island, including Thrayir, the Eye of the Siren, a gorgeous Stormcrow mount players have known about for a long time.
World of Warcraft: The War Within Patch 11.0.7 Features
The Stormcrow mount was originally discovered in the files forWorld of Warcraft: Mists of PandariaPatch 5.4, Siege of Orgrimmar, back in 2013. DuringWarlords of Draenor, the mount was teased as a potential reward obtainable in the game, but was seeminglycut alongside otherWorld of Warcraftcontent. Now, over 10 years later,World of Warcraftis finally adding the Stormcrow to the game in the form of Thrayir, Eyes of the Siren.
Interestingly enough, the Siren Isle itself is also a blast from the past. The island’s map was found in the game’s files back inBattle for Azeroth, but it was never used duringIsland Expeditions or any otherWoWpatch contentat the time. Though it has been tweaked to suit the modern story, reflections of its origin can be seen in the Siren Isle’s history as a Kul Tiran mine at the time ofBattle for Azeroth.
This isn’t the only exciting thing coming toWorld of Warcraftin the coming months. Quests exploring the fate of the Kirin Tor and a continuation ofThe War Within’s story, Arathi Ear customizations for Humans and Kul Tirans, and the return of the Turbulent Timeways andPlunderstorm inWorld of Warcraftare on the horizon, so fans will have plenty to look forward to in Patch 11.0.7 next year.
