Summary
The Prismatic Blessing leveling buffWorld of Warcraftgives new players inDragonflightareas is bugged in a way that makes it impossible for characters to die. Though this glitch will be resolved soon,World of Warcraftcharacters currently cannot be killed as long as they have this buff.
With the launch ofWorld of Warcraft: The War Within,Dragonflighthas become the default leveling experience for new players. People who have never playedWorld of Warcraftbefore transition from Exile’s Reach toDragonflightcontent until level 70, after which they startThe War Within. To help facilitate this, these characters get the Prismatic Blessing – a powerful zone buff inspired bythe five Dragonflights ofWorld of Warcraftto help new players on the Dragon Isles as they complete content originally designed for high-level veterans.
However, there appears to be a bug with one aspect of the Prismatic Blessing that is making characters unkillable. When a player dies, the Ruby Blessing is supposed to bring them back up to full hit points on a one-hour cooldown. That said, the cooldown is currently not triggering, meaning a character with the buff keeps popping up to full indefinitely, making them functionally immortal.Wowhead captured footage of this buffin action, with multiple Elite enemies attacking the character to no avail.
Prismatic Blessing Buff in WoW: Dragonflight Areas
World of Warcraftis aware of the glitch, and is currently working on a fix for it, so the cooldown for the Ruby Blessing should work correctly before long. However, the Prismatic Blessing is also currently being applied toallWorld of Warcraftcharacters below level 70on the Dragon Isles, rather than only brand-new players. It remains to be seen if that will be fixed as well, or if everyone will keep the leveling buff.
This bug has brought attention to some problems with the Prismatic Blessing. While the powerful buff undoubtedly helps new playerslevel up inWorld of Warcraft, some fans have concerns that it may be too strong a handicap for them – even without the hilarious immortality glitch. Players lose the buff at level 70 when they are thrown into Khaz Algar, meaning the gameplay experience suddenly becomes much harder as they adapt to slower movement and casting speeds, less survivability, and harsher hazards on top of high-level play.
Nonetheless, there are few better times to get intoWorld of Warcraftthan right now. The 20th anniversary event likely starts in a few weeks, giving allWorld of Warcraftplayers a massive buff to experience gains. Most of the holiday events can be started as early as level 10, so new players can easily participate in the festivities.
