On October 22,World of Warcraftbegins its 20th anniversary celebrationalongside the release of Patch 11.0.5. This massive in-game event runs until Jun 14, 2025, and features tons of content for players to enjoy. Among the new activities,ClassicTimewalking gives fans a chance to relive iconic dungeons at their current level, allowing them to enter certain instances as they were in VanillaWoWstarting as early as level 10.
Now,World of Warcrafthas given players a digital tour of these dungeons. In a short video posted on Twitter, Blizzard showed off theClassicdungeons coming in thenewWorld of WarcraftTimewalking event: the Deadmines, Dire Maul, Zul’Farrak, and Stratholme. Dire Maul and Stratholme are actually separated into two separate wings – the former with the Warpwood Quarter and Capital Gardens, and the latter’s Living and Undead halves – giving fans a total of six dungeons they queue into duringClassicTimewalking.
Classic Timewalking Dungeons in World of Warcraft
WhenWorld of Warcraftremade Azeroth inCataclysm, nearly every dungeon from Vanilla was reworked in some capacity, including most of those chosen forClassicTimewalking. Because of this, the versions of some dungeons players will encounter during this event have been inaccessible in modernWorld of Warcraftfor nearly 15 years.
ClassicTimewalking also brings with it new loot to buy using Timewarped Badges. Bobadormu, the vendor forClassicTimewalking, offers a bunch of new items, including a mount, toy, several pets, reputation tokens, and a bunch of transmogs, including someitem appearances directly fromWoW ClassicSeason of Discovery. Like the event itself, these rewards will return in the future, asClassicis being added to the regular rotation of Timewalking events.
Unfortunately, VanillaWoWhad an abundance of other old dungeons, like the Wailing Caverns and old Scarlet Monastery wings, that are not inClassicTimewalking at the moment, nor is there a Timewalking raid just yet. However,World of Warcraftfans can enter Blackrock Depths– a brand-new raid version of the eponymous sprawling dungeon – during the 20th anniversary event. It remains to be seen if the Blackrock Depths raid will return again, either in future anniversary events orClassicTimewalking cycles, but the instance promises an adventure both new and nostalgic all the same.
