From now until October 15,World of Warcraftplayers can use the character restoration service without the seven-day cooldown. For a limited time,World of Warcraftfans can restore as many deleted characters as they want, provided the toons are eligible, and they have room on their account.
The Restore Character feature allows fans to un-delete qualifying characters, re-adding them to their roster of alts. To prepare for Warbands inThe War Within,World of Warcraftdisabled this feature in July, though it quietly brought it back in September after the expansion’s release.
Now,World of Warcrafthas officially announced the character restoration service’s triumphant return – and with a limited-time bonus as well. Normally, whenaWorld of Warcraftaccount restores a character, they must wait seven days in order to do so again. However, to help players who need to restore multiple characters from the last few months,World of Warcraftis temporarily removing this cooldown. Until the seven-day cooldown is reinstated on October 15, fans can freely restore eligible characters as long as they have room on their account.
Characters who were deleted during the time when the Restore Character button was deactivated can be eligible for restoration. Fans who have more than one such character to restore may want to consider getting them all back now before the cooldown returns.
There may be some significance to the October 15 date for reinstituting this cooldown, however. On theWorld of WarcraftPublic Test Realm,WoW’s 20th anniversary event is currently scheduled to begin on October 22. It is not uncommon for major events to begin one week after their respective patches launch – and the anniversary is one of the headlining features of Patch 7.0.5. With that in mind, it is possible the new content update could arrive alongside the Restore Character cooldown on October 15.
