According toa transcription by Mastodon user Maxnichols,Echoes of Wisdomis the first time Miyamoto, who helped create theZeldafranchise in 1986, is not listed in the game’s credits. Maxnichols' transcription also stated that Miyamoto had taken a step back from leadership as far back as 2015. That was when Miyamoto and Genyo Takeda briefly acted as co-presidents of Nintendo following the passing of the company’s former leader, Satoru Iwata. Miyamoto was named Nintendo’s “Creative Fellow” shortly after, and Tatsumi Kimishima was chosen as the company’s next president. The last two Nintendo games credited to Miyamoto wereTears of The KingdomandPikmin 4, as he was listed as the general producer for each title.

As forEchoes of Wisdom, the transcription stated that 338 different developers were credited, and over half of them had never appeared in the credits of aLegend of Zeldagame. Although Miyamoto was not involved withEchoes of Wisdom, his work on the franchise continues. Miyamoto’s next confirmed project isa live-action film adaptation ofThe Legend of Zelda, where he is listed as a producer.
