Summary

One craftyThe Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdomplayer has recently found a way to complete the game’s A Launching Device puzzle using an extremely chaotic solution involving a rocket cart. Their “successful fail” serves as yet another reminder of the immense freedom thatTears of the Kingdomoffers to its players.

A Launching Device is part ofTears of the Kingdom’s Hebra shrine set. The puzzle is found in the Oromuwak Shrine, which is located at the coordinates -3080, 1618, 0243. This places it to the east of Lake Totori. The easiest way to find it is to simply follow the road from the Lucky Clover Gazette stable to the southeast while keeping an eye on the cliffs to the right. The shrine itself is surrounded by thorns that players need to burn or go over.

Tears of the Kingdom Player Solves Oromuwak Shrine Puzzle With a Rocket Cart

And while the layout ofTears of the Kingdom’s Oromuwak Shrineis designed to encourage players to launch themselves in the air twice on their way to the end, Reddit user Minoiboisoy has recently managed to complete the puzzle with a single long jump. They did so completely by accident, as their intention was to take off from the first ramp to the middle platform by attaching a Zonai Rocket to the nearby mining cart. But because they stuck the rocket to the right-hand side of the wagon, they launched the entire contraption into the air and away from the railway on which it was supposed to slide.

This turned out better than expected, as the rocket was tilted just enough to the left so that it sent the cart flying to the very end of the level, completely circumventing the lower midsection in the upper-right corner of the room. The video footage documenting this wacky achievement later emerged on the r/Zelda subreddit, much to the amusement of many otherTears of the Kingdomplayers. “Task failed successfully,” wrote one fan chiming in on this feat of engineering.

Minoiboisoy is not the first player who managed to accidentally skip half of the Oromuwak Shrine. Reddit user FemmePrincessMel stumbled on this same rocket-propelled solution back in mid-May 2023, mere days following the game’s release.

This unusual way of completing A Launching Device serves to illustrate the key component that makesTears of the Kingdompuzzles as satisfying as they are: freedom. While all shrines have at least one straightforward solution, most can also be completed by thinking outside the box or even just blindly experimenting with the game’s mechanics.
